This course describes the concepts and implementation details of PowerHA SystemMirror for Linux on IBM Power Systems servers. The lecture content and hands-on labs cover the basics of the product’s architecture, prerequisites, the planning necessary for implementation, the configuration and customization steps to produce a highly available cluster, and the administration of the cluster. PowerHA is a clustering technology that provides both failover protection by having redundancy and horizontal scalability through concurrent/parallel access. IBM PowerHA SystemMirror (formerly IBM PowerHA and HACMP) is IBM's solution for high-availability clusters on the AIX Unix and Linux for IBM System p platforms and stands for High Availability Cluster Multiprocessing.
